| Location: AL, Member Since: May 02, 2009 Gender: Female Goal Type: Marathon Finish Running Accomplishments: Still learning- just got my 1st 5K masters in February and ran my 1st 1/2 marathon then too- Mercedes in Birmingham, AL. Short-Term Running Goals: I would like to get my 5K time at least in 24 minutes and run my first marathon.
Long-Term Running Goals: Be a good role model to my girls and to my students. To be a good supporter of husband's endeavours- he is a top-notch runner. Personal: I am married to Jon Elmore who ran in high school and college, but wasn't a runner when we met. He started back in his late 30's and is awesome: Boston Marathon, ultras, state 1 mile record, etc. He coaches our girls' track team. He and the girls inspired me to get involved with running. The first time I ran a 1 mile fun run I just prayed to keep up! |

First planned to run with Brother, but he went to the dog house for doing his own little tour of the neighborhood without me. Planned to run the neighborhood myself, but the Garmin went out after about 1/2 a mile. Ran the rest of a mile, picked up Brother, and headed to the park. It felt good even though it rained a little. I was just so glad to be outside. April was a tough month and this week was a crazy week. | Comments(4) |

| | Ran 4 miles- weather was perfect before meeting my family for Cinco de Mayo at Mi Hacienda. | Add Comment |
| | It rained and stormed during the school day (enough so that we had a tornado warning), but it moved quickly through without major damage. The sun came out just when school got out. I got a quick 4 in with Brother before church. At first he pulled me and then I pulled him. | Add Comment |

Steeplechase 8K (5 Miles) 00:43:34, Place in age division: 2 | |
The weather held up through the race, but then had a short down pour. I had wanted to have a PR, but still did my best yet on this course- better by almost 4 minutes from last year! I started out to fast and the humidity started getting to me about the time we crossed back over the overpass. My PR for an 8K is 43:14 and I was hoping for 42:59 this time, but hope to PR next weekend in Jesse Owens 10K. | Comments(2) |
